Daxxify and Botox work very similarly. However, Daxxify has longer-lasting results compared to Botox and typically activates a little faster. The Daxxify formula uses a peptide that provides additional stability for the product when it’s injected, so it lasts longer under the skin. Faster and longer-lasting results means Daxxify tends to cost a little more than Botox per unit, but also requires fewer maintenance sessions overall!

Know Before You Glow
It truly depends on your goals. Many of our patients opt to use Daxxify if they know they want to be using their wrinkle relaxer long term but don’t want to come in as often for their maintenance treatments.
If you’re looking for preventative care, Dysport and Botox shine in that department. During your consultation, your provider can talk through all of the options and help you make the best choice based on your goals and lifestyle.
There’s not much you need to do prior to your appointment, but we do recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications, alcohol, and strenuous exercises for 1 to 2 days prior to your treatment.
If you’re using a topical retinoid in your skincare, we recommend pausing that for a few days prior and after your wrinkle relaxer treatment. All of these recommendations are meant to help prevent excessive bruising, swelling, or redness after your injections.
Most patients start to see their results within just 1 to 2 days of their treatment, because Daxxify typically activates sooner than Botox. Of course, the results within the first 48 hours will be subtle compared to the full refresh that’s on the way. Just like other wrinkle relaxers, Daxxify takes time to take full effect. You can expect to see your final results within 7 to 10 days.
The best part of Daxxify is that it’s a longer-lasting treatment compared to both Botox and Dysport. Patients can often enjoy their results for 6 to 9 months, instead of 3 to 4. This means fewer touch-ups and a more convenient maintenance schedule, especially for those who want to minimize their office visits.
There’s no downtime after Daxxify, although it can depend on your personal preference. It’s normal for there to be minimal bruising or swelling that’s easily covered with makeup, but some of our patients like to take the night off and relax at home.
The only specific aftercare to consider is continuing to avoid blood-thinning medications and alcohol. Additionally, we may recommend you take a break from strenuous workout routines. We’ll talk through any other aftercare needs during your appointment at Vitality.
We typically recommend booking your wrinkle relaxing treatment at least 2 to 4 weeks prior to any important events. 2 weeks is enough time to see your results from any of our wrinkle relaxers, and on the off chance we need to do any touch ups, you’ll still have time in that window.
