Vitality Antiaging Center Kybella Injectables Treatments

KYBELLA®

Tired of your double chin? You can improve your appearance and profile with KYBELLA®. This non-surgical injectable treatment reduces moderate to severe fat on your jawline. KYBELLA® injections work by destroying fat cells, preventing them from storing fat and giving you a slimmer neck. Want to know more about KYBELLA®? We’d love to answer your questions.

HOW KYBELLA® WORKS

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

What is a ``double chin``?

One of the biggest complaints both women and men have when asked if they could correct one thing about their face is a double chin. In fact, in recent surveys, 68% of people said this was their primary complaint. Many have reported it has affected their self-esteem and been a significant issue for them for most of their life. Often, this is genetic and not due to the patient’s weight. Previously the only option we have had was surgery. Whereas, with the FDA approval and release of KYBELLA®, patients have a non-surgical option that is safe and carries minimal side effects.

What is KYBELLA®?

KYBLLA® is a non-animal/non-human substance called Deoxycholic Acid. Deoxycholic Acid is a bile salt that is naturally present in our body. This bile salt helps emulsify dietary fat. Thirdly, when injected into the fat pocket under the chin, it dissolves the fat. As a result, the fat is permanently removed by our bodies.

How many treatments do you need of KYBELLA®?

The average patient will require 2-4 treatments with KYBELLA® spaced 4-6 weeks apart.  Therefore, side effects are expected but mild. They included swelling, tenderness, possible bruising, numbness, and possible sensation of fullness when swallowing. When injected properly, the risk of temporary nerve paralysis is minimal.
